The Bialogard
Commune is located in the north-eastern part of the
Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship, 30 km away from the Baltic Sea.
The commune covers
an area of 32,792 ha, and its population is about 8,200 inhabitants.
The commune is
characterised by a wealth of flora and fauna. The diversity of the
environment, from marshes and meadows to forests and lakes, makes
this area unusually varied in terms of its natural advantages. Clean
rivers: the Parseta, Lisnica, Pokrzywnica, Mogilica and Topiel,
abounding in salmonid fish like trout and grayling, are an
unquestionable asset of the commune.
There are two lakes
within the area of the commune: Lake Byszyno, situated 12 km from the
town of Bialogard, by the road to Polczyn Zdroj, and Lake
Rybackie, which lies along the Przegonia-Tychowo route.

In the village of
Pomianowo there is a mini-zoo run by Mr. and Mrs. Januszewski. You
can admire there, among other creatures, ostriches, Vietnamese pigs
and hairy Highland cows.
